Wrapping Up 2025 & Looking Forward to 2026: New Beginnings, New Possibilities

Wrapping Up 2025 & Looking Forward to 2026: New Beginnings, New Possibilities

What a year 2025 has been. As I sit here reflecting on the last twelve months; especially these roller coaster few months. I'm honestly amazed at where I am. If you'd told me at the start of the year that I'd be here, writing this, I'm not sure I would have believed you.

The Roller Coaster Ride

The journey from setting up shop in Bobby's Emporium to seeing one of my pieces become a best seller on Etsy has been nothing short of surreal. There were moments of doubt, late nights wondering if I was on the right path, and plenty of learning curves that felt more like learning cliffs. But somewhere along the way, something shifted.

I started to see the potential in my own creativity and potential I never saw before. Each doodle, each design, each connection with a customer who loved what I'd made... it all added up to something bigger than I'd imagined.

More Doodles, More Connections

2025 taught me that creativity isn't just about the finished product. It's about the process, the connections, and the courage to put your work out into the world. Every pet portrait, every card, every piece that found its way to someone who appreciated it. These weren't just sales, they were connections. Real people, real pets, real stories.

And the doodles? They just keep coming. What started as sketches in the margins has become a business, a brand, a way of life. I'm learning to trust the creative process more, to let ideas flow without overthinking them.

New Beginnings in 2026

So here we are, on the edge of 2026, and I'm aiming high. Not because I have it all figured out (I definitely don't) but because I never thought I'd be here in the first place. If 2025 taught me anything, it's that the impossible is just the thing you haven't done yet.

I'm excited to create more, connect more, and see where this creative journey takes me. More pet portraits that capture the personality of beloved companions. More designs that bring a smile. More collaborations with wonderful small businesses and fellow creators. More learning, more growing, more discovering what's possible.

Thank You

To everyone who's supported Dotts Yard this year. Whether you bought a card, commissioned a portrait, shared a post, or simply cheered me on. Thank you. You've been part of this roller coaster, and I couldn't have done it without you.

Here's to 2026: to new beginnings, new connections, and believing in the creative potential we all have inside us. I'm ready for whatever comes next.

Onwards and upwards! 🎨✨
